Middle School Battle of the Books encourages students to read for fun

After months of preparation, 120 students participated in the Middle School Battle of the Books competition on May 12th. The Foundation funded the books for the Middle School Battle of the Books through our Classroom Grant Program.


Prairie Construction donated materials to new SkillsUSA groups at the three EPS high schools

SkillsUSA is an organization new to the three Elkhorn high schools beginning in the 2024-2025 school year. The inaugural year was made easier by a donation of Milwaukee cordless construction tools and lumber from Prairie Construction, a local Omaha construction company. 


Fueling for the Future: An EPSF & Hy-Vee Fundraiser

Starting on May 1st, the Elkhorn Public Schools Foundation is partnering with the Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh Gas Station on 156th & Maple for a gas pump fundraiser where $0.01/gallon at PUMP 18 will benefit students at all EPS buildings. 


Skyline encourages reading with One School, One Book Program

Skyline hosted the One School, One Book program where all Skyline families received a copy of the book, Pie by Sarah Weeks. The books were paid for through the Foundation’s Classroom Grants program.

EPS Middle Schools Host Speaker Kyler Erickson

Through funding from the Foundation’s Classroom Grant program, all five middle schools welcomed Kyler Erickson to share his impactful message.

NEW ACHIEVE CTE Scholarship

The new ACHIEVE Career & Technical Education (CTE) Scholarship parallels the existing ACHIEVE Advanced Placement (AP) Scholarship.


2024 Partnership & Alignment Committee Projects

Reading Across the Programs: MS & HS Reading Incentives

In an effort to encourage students to read for enjoyment, middle school and high school media specialists are offering prizes when students participate in book-based discussion groups or complete a reading choice board.

Class of 1979 Gives Back

Elkhorn High Class of 1979 celebrated their 45th year reunion by connecting with the community. They created a float for Elkhorn Days and donated to the Foundation! Thank you so much Class of 1979!!

Scholarship Recognition Ceremonies

The Elkhorn Public Schools Foundation had the pleasure of awarding scholarships at the scholarship recognition ceremonies on April 23rd at Elkhorn South High School, April 24th at Elkhorn North High School, and April 25th at Elkhorn High School! This year EPSF awarded more than $568,000 in scholarships to 2024 EPS Seniors!

In the spirit of March Madness, the Elkhorn Public Schools elementary schools hosted their own bracket: the Battle of the Books! The district-wide battle took place on April 8, 2024, after school.
