Despite sharing the same hometown, we traveled different paths to get where we are today. Alumni Stories are an opportunity for Elkhorn alumni to share personal and professional news (college degrees earned, new employment, family developments, etc.) as a way to foster community and strengthen connections. Alumni Spotlight: Irma Lamprecht
On the evening of June 8th, at the Elkhorn Legion Club, Irma Harder Lamprecht was honored as the oldest living alumnus of Elkhorn High School and the last surviving member of the Elkhorn graduating class of 1944.
Elkhorn AlumMates – Michael & Sarah Nolan
Michael and Sarah Schmidt, both Elkhorn High School class of 1996 graduates, met in the fourth grade at Skyline Elementary. They are now owner’s of Michael’s family business, Sam & Louie’s!
EPS Alumni Scholarship Story
The Elkhorn Public Schools (EPS) Alumni Scholarship began its journey when the Elkhorn High School Class of 1992 was planning their 30th high school reunion the summer of 2022. Their scholarship celebrates the essence of the entire Elkhorn community.

School safety has become more and more important over the past few decades. Elkhorn Public Schools has a new position in 2023 of Director of School Safety. Elkhorn 2006 alumnus Brian Kempf has filled this position!
Veterans Day Spotlight – Landon Wakefield
Landon Wakefield is an Elkhorn High School 1996 graduate who served for the United States military. He says, “I loved growing up in Elkhorn and I played a lot of sports, baseball, basketball. I had a great childhood, good friends, and enjoyed the small community”.

The love story of 1992 Elkhorn graduates Carmen (Ohm) Dau and Denny Dau began in 1947 when they met while attending Sunday school at the age of three years old.

Two EHS alums receive EPSF Hall of Fame Awards on November 3rd, 2022. Two Elkhorn High School graduates Jon Driscoll (’81) and James Manske (’06) were recognized.
Spotlight – Emily (DuPree) Christensen Ed. D. ’03
2003 EHS graduate returns to the District as the Assistant Principal of Elkhorn North High School. She says, “Being an administrator brings joy, challenges, something new all the time, and conversations I could never have in another profession.
Spotlight – Marge Denker Grabow ’36 (1918-2023)
Written in 2021: Elkhorn High School 1936 graduate was the oldest living alumnus of Elkhorn High School at the age of 103. She said, “When I went to high school, there was one building. High School was on the second floor and grade school was on the first floor. It was bare bones, and it wasn’t all the things like you have today.”
Spotlight – Derrick Fitton ’95
Elkhorn High School graduate (and current EPSF Board Member) Derrick Fitton uses his expertise in the trades industry to give back to the Elkhorn Public Schools District. As Director of Operations at Drake-Williams Steel, he spoke with Elkhorn Industrial Technology students about the welding operations and various career options within DW Steel.
