Scholarship Programs

Community Funded Scholarships

The Elkhorn Public Schools Foundation administers scholarships on behalf of community businesses, families and organizations.  In 2017 the Foundation launched a new customized scholarship software platform by WizeHive! Students were able to apply online for scholarships which eliminated redundant tasks and paper applications. Our new system was so easy and user friendly that we saw a huge increase in the number of scholarship applications submitted.

Applications for seniors graduating from Elkhorn High School and Elkhorn South High School in May 2020 were available online on Monday, December 2, 2019. The deadline to submit 2020 scholarship applications was 5pm on Friday, January 31st.

Scholarship winners were to be recognized at the Foundation’s Scholarship Recognition Breakfasts at Elkhorn South High School on April 29th and Elkhorn High School on April 30th. Due to the school closures and COVID-19 restrictions, we will not be holding the Scholarship Breakfasts in April.

On April 1st, The Elkhorn Public Schools District announced that the Foundation’s Scholarship Recognition Breakfasts will be tied to the high schools’ graduation date – the Wednesday and Thursday mornings prior to graduation. The District also announced alternative dates for graduation in the event of an extended school closure.

Originally, graduation was scheduled for Sunday, May 17th. However, on the evening of April 1st, Gov. Ricketts announced that all Nebraska schools will be closed through May 31st.  The District’s first alternative date for graduation is Sunday, June 14th.  Therefore, the Foundation’s Scholarship Breakfasts will be held at Elkhorn South High School on Wednesday, June 10th and at Elkhorn High School on Thursday, June 11th.  Scholarship applicants will receive either an invitation to the June breakfast or a regret letter mid-April.

If it is determined that graduation needs to be moved to a later date, then the District has designated Sunday, July 26th as the latest date to hold graduation ceremonies.
