ACHIEVE Advanced Placement (AP) Scholarship Program

The ACHIEVE Advanced Placement (AP) Scholarship Program recognizes and rewards students who engage in academically rigorous coursework while maintaining balance in other areas of interest within our schools and community.  We believe that exposure to core academic rigor, elective course sequences, community service and school activities will promote success during and after high school.

Requirements & How to Apply:

Elkhorn Public Schools’ seniors must submit an online application on the Foundation’s customized software platform (available December 1st through February 1st). Please see below for scholarship requirements. You will want to apply for the highest level for which you qualify.

Gold Level ACHIEVE Advanced Placement (AP) Scholarship Requirements – $1,350 Scholarship

1. Applicants have taken seven Advanced Placement (AP) courses and have received an average grade of 3 or better in each AP class taken for that class to qualify. For an AP class to qualify, the student must receive a 3 in that class for the year. The actual percentage grades (before rounding) for the 1st & 2nd semester are averaged.
2. Applicants must have taken a minimum of four AP Placement Final Exams at the completion of the course.
3. Applicants must have participated for four years in at least one school-based extra-curricular activity, athletic team and/or club. (Does not have to be the same activity each year).
4. Applicants must have performed a minimum of 100 hours of community service throughout their high school experience. Services hours cannot benefit family members (i.e. yard work for grandparents, household chores, etc.). The Foundation’s ACHIEVE Community Service Documentation Form may be used to document your community service hours. NHS Forms ARE also allowed.
5. Applicants must complete four different Career Exploration Experiences prior to the ACHIEVE Scholarship application deadline. Download the ACHIEVE Career Exploration Requirement Verification Form to document your Career Exploration Experiences. (For examples of career experiences, refer to EPS Career Exploration Experiences Examples. If you have questions regarding the form, please contact your high school counselor).
6. Scholarship recipients must enroll at a post-secondary educational institution to receive their scholarship payment.

Silver Level ACHIEVE Advanced Placement (AP) Scholarship Requirements – $900 Scholarship

1. Applicants have taken five Advanced Placement (AP) courses and have received an average grade of 3 or better in each AP class taken for that class to qualify. For an AP class to qualify, the student must receive a 3 in that class for the year. The actual percentage grades (before rounding) for the 1st & 2nd semester are averaged.
2. Applicants must have taken a minimum of three AP Placement Final Exams at the completion of the course.
3. Applicants must have participated for three years in at least one school-based extra-curricular activity, athletic team and/or club. (Does not have to be the same activity each year).
4. Applicants must have performed a minimum of 75 hours of community service throughout their high school experience. Services hours cannot benefit family members (i.e. yard work for grandparents, household chores, etc.). The Foundation’s ACHIEVE Community Service Documentation Form may be used to document your community service hours. NHS Forms ARE also allowed.

Bronze Level ACHIEVE Advanced Placement (AP) Scholarship Requirements – $500 Scholarship

1. Applicants have taken four Advanced Placement (AP) courses and have received an average grade of 3 or better in each AP class taken for that class to qualify. For an AP class to qualify, the student must receive a 3 in that class for the year. The actual percentage grades (before rounding) for the 1st & 2nd semester are averaged.
2. Applicants must have taken a minimum of two AP Placement Final Exams at the completion of the course.
3. Applicants must have participated for two years in at least one school-based extra-curricular activity, athletic team and/or club. (Does not have to be the same activity each year).
4. Applicants must have performed a minimum of 50 hours of community service throughout their high school experience. Services hours cannot benefit family members (i.e. yard work for grandparents, household chores, etc.). The Foundation’s ACHIEVE Community Service Documentation Form may be used to document your community service hours. NHS Forms ARE also allowed.
