ACHIEVE Career & Technical Education Scholarship Program

The Elkhorn Public Schools Foundation is launching the new ACHIEVE Career & Technical Education Scholarship! The goal of this new scholarship is to encourage students to get a more expansive view of careers in the skilled & technical trades and provide opportunities for hands on experience during their high school years.

Scholarship Requirements & How to Apply:

Elkhorn Public Schools’ seniors must submit an online application on the Foundation’s customized software platform (available December 1st through February 1st). Please see below for detailed scholarship requirements. You will want to apply for the highest level for which you qualify

Gold Level ACHIEVE Career & Technical Education Scholarship Requirements – $1,350 Scholarship

  1. Applicants have taken three courses in ONE Program of Focus in an Elective Course Sequence and have received an average grade of 3 or better in each elective class taken for that class to qualify. For year-long classes, the actual percentage grade (before rounding) for the 1st & 2nd semester are averaged. Click on the following for the Elective Course Sequence Program of Focus chart.
  2. Applicants must have taken four years of Math courses during high school.
  3. Applicants must have taken EITHER four years of Social Studies OR four years of Science courses during high school.
  4. Applicants must complete SIX different Career Exploration Experiences AND have a minimum of 200 hours of Career Exploration Experience over a minimum of two years during high school to be completed prior to the application deadline. (For examples of career experiences, refer to EPS Career Exploration Experiences Examples). Applicants will be required to submit BOTH of the following documents when completing their online application:
  5. Applicants must have participated for four years in at least one school-based extra-curricular activity, athletic team and/or club. (Does not have to be the same activity each year).
  6. Applicants must have performed a minimum of 100 hours of community service throughout their high school experience. Services hours cannot benefit family members (i.e. yard work for grandparents, household chores, etc.). The Foundation’s ACHIEVE Community Service Documentation Form may be used to document your community service hours. NHS Forms ARE also allowed.
  7. Scholarship recipients must enroll at a post-secondary educational institution in the fall after the scholarship is awarded to receive their scholarship payment unless alternative arrangements are approved by the Foundation’s Executive Director.

Silver Level Career & Technical Education Scholarship Requirements –$900 Scholarship

  1. Applicants have taken three semesters in ONE Program of Focus in an Elective Course Sequence and have received an average grade of 3 or better in each elective class taken for that class to qualify. For year-long classes, the actual percentage grade (before rounding) for the 1st & 2nd semester are averaged. Click on the following for the Elective Course Sequence Program of Focus chart.
  2. Applicants must have taken four years of Math courses during high school.
  3. Applicants must complete FIVE different Career Exploration Experiences AND have a minimum of 175 hours of Career Exploration Experience over a minimum of two years during high school to be completed prior to the application deadline. (For examples of career experiences, refer to EPS Career Exploration Experiences Examples). Applicants will be required to submit BOTH of the following documents when completing their online application:

Bronze Level ACHIEVE Career & Technical Education Scholarship Requirements –$500 Scholarship

  1. Applicants have taken three semesters in ONE Program of Focus in an Elective Course Sequence and have received an average grade of 3 or better in each elective class taken for that class to qualify. For year-long classes, the actual percentage grade (before rounding) for the 1st & 2nd semester are averaged. Click on the following for the Elective Course Sequence Program of Focus chart.
  2. Applicants must have taken four years of Math courses during high school.
  3. Applicants must complete FOUR different Career Exploration Experiences AND have a minimum of 150 hours of Career Exploration Experience over a minimum of two years during high school to be completed prior to the application deadline. (For examples of career experiences, refer to EPS Career Exploration Experiences Examples). Applicants will be required to submit BOTH of the following documents when completing their online application:
  4. Applicants must have participated for two years in at least one school-based extra-curricular activity, athletic team and/or club. (Does not have to be the same activity each year).
  5. Applicants must have performed a minimum of 50 hours of community service throughout their high school experience. Services hours cannot benefit family members (i.e. yard work for grandparents, household chores, etc.) The Foundation’s ACHIEVE Community Service Documentation Form may be used to document your community service hours.
