#GivingTuesday 2021

Please consider making a donation to our year-end campaign on November 30th, #GivingTuesday! It is with your crucial support that we are able to fund Classroom Grants, Scholarships, Math & Reading Assistance, Teacher Tuition Reimbursement, and more. Please read about our main programs below:

Classroom Grants

We enrich Elkhorn Public School education by providing multiple Classroom Grants to all 19 schools in the District, impacting Elkhorn students at every grade level

Scholarship Program

We administer scholarships on behalf of community businesses, families, and organizations. Together, our scholarship program has benefited thousands of graduating Elkhorn seniors.

“It truly means the world to me to have you believe in me and have invested in my future. Thank you so much.” -Kyler Beekman, 2020 Elkhorn High School Graduate & EPSF Scholarship Recipient

Kids in Need

We provide financial assistance to Elkhorn families in need, ensuring financial hardships do not stand in the way of our students’ physical, social, and emotional needs or their ability to achieve success within our schools.

Before/After School Math & Reading Intervention

We fund the numerous hours that our Elkhorn teachers spend outside their school day assisting the hundreds of elementary school students who need extra assistance in math and reading comprehension. This includes after-school math & reading clubs.

“At first I didn’t think that my child would want to attend Math Club, but he LOVES it!  I have seen such improvement in the work he is doing!” -Emily Penry

Teacher Tuition Reimbursement

We encourage our Elkhorn teachers and teacher assistants to prioritize their continued education by providing partial tuition reimbursement. The Foundation provides thousands of dollars in tuition reimbursement every year.

EPSF Raises Over $50K during 2021-2022 TEAM Campaign

Every year, the Foundation works with the Elkhorn Public Schools District to launch our TEAM Campaign.

By donating to our TEAM Campaign, they help us provide additional funding for Elkhorn Public Schools Foundation programs such as Classroom Grants, Math & Reading Assistance, Scholarships for graduating seniors, Teacher Tuition Reimbursement, our Kids in Need Fund, and more!

Congratulations to our TEAM Campaign Winners!

Elkhorn North High School, Elkhorn North Ridge Middle School, and Westridge Elementary School were the schools that had the highest average staff donations during our TEAM Campaign. In exchange for their support, the Foundation is providing their teachers and staff with quarterly treats for the rest of the 2021-2022 school year!

Golf Fore Grants Event Raises Over $47,000 for Elkhorn Public Schools Foundation Classrooms Grants Program

Congratulations to our 2021 Golf Fore Grants Winners!

On June 7, 2021, over 184 participants, volunteers, and sponsors gathered for a day of golf, games, and fun at Champions Run Golf Course for our 22nd annual Golf Fore Grants Tournament.

Thanks to fundraising events like Golf Fore Grants, The Foundation is able to support its Classroom Grants Program which provides additional funding for Elkhorn’s kindergarten through high school classrooms. In the past, these grants have helped purchase additional innovative, educational STEAM items such as ClearTouch interactive displays, coding activities, reading assistance programs, robotics equipment, and so much more!

“We have so much to celebrate this year! For starters, our tournament sold out in just 5 weeks, and for the first time, we had a waitlist of 11 additional foursomes wanting to participate in our golf fundraiser! We expect this year’s tournament to raise the most money ever.”

This year’s Golf Fore Grants event featured a four-person 18-hole afternoon scramble which began with a noon shotgun start. Elkhorn High School Cheerleaders, Elkhorn Kids Campus Employees, and Foundation Friends teamed up to assist with golf games all along the course which included opportunities to win a 2021 Alfa Romeo Guilia, a PITCH Pizzeria Basket, a Golf and Wine Gift Basket, and more.

The tournament team champions were General Fire & Safety’s Jason McDonald, Bobby Deleidi, Jason Bartling, & Andy
Knutson with a winning score of 52. MCL Construction’s foursome were the winners of this year’s putting green contest and the best Golf Poker hand went to Seim Johnson’s Todd Arnold.

The full list of this year’s winners can be found here.

The Foundation would like to thank our 2021 Golf Fore Grants participants, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters. The success of this year’s event would not have been possible without the support of the Elkhorn Public Schools Foundation community.

Bids 4 Kids Virtual Auction Raises Over $36,000 for Elkhorn Public Schools Math & Reading Intervention Programs!

Students from the Spring Ridge Elementary School’s Math Club, a group funded by the Elkhorn Public Schools Foundation.

Although COVID-19 disrupted the Elkhorn Public Schools Foundation’s plans to hold a live fundraising event last spring, the Elkhorn community came together last week (virtually) and raised over $36,000 to help fund Math & Reading Before/After School Intervention Programs for Elkhorn Public Schools.

From September 1 to September 10, more than 360 members of the Elkhorn community participated in the Foundation’s online Bids 4 Kids Auction. Thanks to the generous participants and sponsors of Foundation events like Bids 4 Kids, the Elkhorn Public Schools Foundation provided $57,000 in funding towards Math & Reading Before/ After School Intervention Programs, helping over 500 students during the 2019-2020 school year!

“While we were quickly readjusting the event to take place online, we were unsure of how it would translate,” said Melanie Lucks, Marketing & Development Manager of the Elkhorn Public Schools Foundation. “Even though we really missed seeing all of the faces of our community and the fun that comes with a ‘night out in-person event,’ our fundraiser was still successful because of the amazing supporters of the Foundation.”

This year’s Bids 4 Kids event featured 245 auction items and experiences up for bid, many of which were donated by local businesses and families. Some of the most coveted items included a golf getaway to Dismal River Club, four lower bowl tickets to Maroon 5, Elkhorn Graduation Ceremony Packages, two lower bowl tickets to see comedian Joe Rogan, and a Husker Tailgate Package. 2,333 bids were made over the 10-day online auction.

“Thank you to everyone who participated in our online Bids 4 Kids auction!” said Stacey L. Falk, Executive Director of the Elkhorn Public Schools Foundation. “Because of our supporters, gracious event sponsors, and Foundation team, we are able to continue to provide programs that enrich education and expand opportunities for Elkhorn students!”

The Elkhorn Public Schools Foundation is a non-profit organization that promotes student achievement and the unity of our community and its public schools by encouraging, supporting, and recognizing excellence in innovative education, quality school programs, and civic involvement. We offer scholarships, classroom grants, before & after school care, teacher tuition reimbursement, and more.

About Bids 4 Kids

Bids 4 Kids is an annual auction hosted by the Elkhorn Public Schools Foundation. Last year, more than 400 donors helped support our fundraiser by attending the event and/or bidding by phone. Together, we were able to raise over $49,000 to help fund our Before/ After School Math and Reading Student Intervention Program.

In the 2019-2020 school year, over 500 elementary students were identified as needing additional teaching instruction in math and reading. With your generous support, we’re able to continue to help fund the additional teacher instructional time that students need to help improve their overall reading and math comprehension. Thank you!
