Approximately 275 people attended the Fifteenth Annual Hall of Fame Banquet, held at Manchester Elementary on November 1. Hall of Fame honorees and classroom grant recipients were recognized during the event.
Honorees included:
A silent auction of selected student artwork raised over $1,700 in support of the Elkhorn Public Schools Foundation's Art scholarship. The auction occurred prior to the banquet.
Teachers who received classroom grants from the Foundation were recognized during the banquet for their commitment to innovative instructional programs. Thanks to the generosity of community members and businesses, classroom grants totaling more than $100,000 will be implemented in each of the schools during the 2009-10 academic year.
During the social hour, patrons had the opportunity to view technology purchased with classroom grant funds. Kim Miller, Lynn Donahue, Matt McMurty, and Julie Patchen demonstrated the advanced features of a SmartBoard. Jane Kathol, art teacher at Fire Ridge, highlighted the features of an AverMedia projector, many of which are used throughout the district to enhance education and stimulate learning.
D.A. Davidson and DLR were dinner sponsors for the event. Table sponsors included American Interstate Bank, David and Chris Knight, Fred and Joy Witecy, and the parent groups of Elkhorn Middle School, Elkhorn Ridge Middle School, Hillrise, Manchester, Spring Ridge and Westridge.
Plan now to attend the 2010 Hall of Fame banquet, scheduled for October 24, 2010
