Gals on the Green

The fourth annual Gals on the Green golf tournament on Monday, July 20 at Pacific Springs. Forty-five golfers braved the rainy weather to support girls athletics programs in the Elkhorn Public Schools. The nine-hole contest was followed by a luncheon and program at 94/95 Sports Grille.

Proceeds from the tournament are used to support a variety of girls athletics programs. Additionally, a girls athletics scholarship will be awarded in May 2010 to a graduating senior female athlete.

Ron and Jeanie Carson and Chris and Teri Murphy were lunch sponsors for the event. Hole sponsorships were provided by AC Awards, D&D Laser, Inc., Diva Girl Enterprises, LLC, Holmes, Murphy & Associates, Inc., Pinnacle Bank and Riley and Avery Wallace.

New to the tournament this year was the opportunity to play golf poker. Sponsored by Pinnacle Bank, the game added an additional element of excitement to the outing.

A raffle and silent auction, with prizes donated by numerous community supporters, helped boost tournament proceeds. The event ended with an awards ceremony announcing flag prize winners and tournament champions. Deb Marasco, Marna Raburn, Lawana Rothamel and Deb Timm won the tournament, followed closely by Mimi Ramsbottom, Taylor Marasco and Morgan Lago.
